I dimly recall seeing a movie (probably) on TV. It would have been
1967-1979. But I don't remember many details; I haven't even tried to
Google for it, not knowing enough keywords.
- Some sort of peril is approaching Earth from space. When they're
finally shown, they're small (2 ft-ish) brightly glowing spheres.
- Earth or the US sends up classic-looking rockets (as in Hugo Award
statuettes). There's a small hatch door that opens near the nose.
They are supposed to scoop the glowy things into the hold via the
opening. (There may be magnets involved too.) And what a surprise,
someone manages to miss a glowy thing; it hits their ****p and blows
it up.
- On Earth, they have training simulators for the rockets. They
mention that maneuvering the wrong way will cause the rocket to lose
control. Someone does it in the simulator on Earth. And what a
surprise, someone does it in space!
- One of the pilots is tooling thru space when a skeleton in a
spacesuit hits his wind****eld -- presumably a result of one of the
oopsies mentioned above.
I suspect that "B grade" would be unwarranted flattery.
Any ideas of the title or other details?
