It's a teaser trailer. They're rarely anything to get excited about
(remember the awful "Spider-man" teaser with the helicopter and the
web between two skyscrapers... I nearly didn't go see that movie,
based on how cheesy that was. The movie itself was terrific.) On a
related note, the content-lite ad campaign for "What the hell is the
name of this movie?" ("Cloverfield") didn't impress, either.
Abrams & Co. are probably figuring that anyone familiar with
"Enterprise" will go see Trek 11 regardless, and those unfamiliar with
"Enterprise" won't have the faintest notion that the teaser looks
familiar.
And showing the original Enterprise under construction informs the
general audiences that this movie is set during the time of a young
Kirk and Spock.
