Somewhere during the second half of the 80s, or maybe even the very
early 90s, I saw this SF movie on (Dutch) television that involved
time-travel. A few weeks later, I saw Timescape (aka "The Grand Tour",
aka "Disaster in Time"), so I know it's not that movie.
What I remember is the folloiwing:
* It involved time-travel (duh!)
* The audio was in English.
* The main character was male, and his wife died, IIRC, in a car
accident. I think the accident was shown in a couple of flash-backs.
* Most of the scenes were rather sunny.
* He was contacted by a female timetraveller to go after one or more
other rogue timetravellers.
* Whenever someone timetravelled, the scene showed them stepping out of
a burning circle.
* At the end, after the main plot had been resolved, the female
timetraveller undid the wife's accident. I'm not quite sure whether we
actually got to see the wife. (That's why I mentioned Timescape - it
has some similarities.)
* I think most characters were caucasian.
I recently discoved "The Big List of over 700 time travel movies &
shows" (http://www.aetherco.com/timelinks/timevideo-thebiglist.html)
but
nothing sounds familiar enough. I have searched IMDb for the keyword
"time-travel" (and even "time-travel-romance") but no luck there.
Does this sound even a bit familiar to anyone? I don't think it was all
that great, but for some reason, this has been bugging me for *years*.
