But in order to know if a movie is lousy or not, you have to at least 
SEE IT.  This, of course, most of the time requires that you buy a 
ticket.  I'm not a huge Star Trek fan, in that I'm not among the 
fanboys.  So if it strays from the original TV series -- which really 
wasn't THAT great -- I don't care.  All that's required is that it be a 
good movie.  A Trek fan will want to piss on it because some niggling 
detail wasn't congruent with some niggling detail from the series.  A 
minor incongruity won't mean crap to me.  And if it's a reboot, I'm okay 
with that, too.  None of this Anybody's complaints were legitimate.  It 
was a thoughtless rant in which he dumped on one group after the other, 
as if he himself were not guilty of paying to see a movie that turned 
out to be less than he expected, and it sounded sort of snooty.  He 
doesn't apprehend the idea that hoi polloi inflating box office receipts 
might have gone into the theater just like him, with higher expectations 
but, like him, found it wasn't as advertised.  He seemed to put himself 
above the dirty unwashed, Star Trek fans and all.
