FWIW, as Trek fans, we've had to put up with a *tremendous* amount of 
disappointments and letdowns for over a decade.  VOY wasn't that great,
ST:G 
was pretty disappointing, ST:I and ST:N were *massive* disappointments,
and 
ST:E was the biggest flop in the last 40 years of Star Trek (the only Star

Trek after TOS to actually be cancelled, and jeopardize the entire 
franchise).  We've put up with both terrible quality AND money taken out
of 
our pockets (going to the movies), and some of us are more than a 
bit...gun-shy...about all that happening all over again.

We love Trek, but we're absolutely sick and tired of garbage being thrown 
out to us in the name of simply making a profit for the PTB.

Therefore, although it might not be "fair", some of us are extremely wary
of 
any "new" Trek that, in actually, is simply attempting to [retread] over 
previous Trek experiences.  Like it or not, a "reboot" is still going back

to points that were a factor in Trek before and trying to create them in a

more modern / different light.  We have already seen an attempt at this - 
ST:E - and can you blame some of us for saying "No, thank you" if it
simply 
means more of the same?

It's hard to be objective when you've been...burned...so many times in the

past.

I, for one, would *love* a Star Trek TNG "TNG" - that is, a Star Trek even

beyond the timeline of TNG.  I am *more* than willing to give an all New 
(*truly* new) Star Trek a shot.

But going back (yet again)?  Umm, can I get back to you on this??  ^_^
