Well, if they had any smarts the studio would have kept introducing new
younger cast members after Wrath of Kahn, keeping the movie series
fresh. But, no, they get rid of both Decker and Ilia in the first film
and toss Saavik aside after a cameo in #4. No planning ahead from the
very beginning...
