The science behind Lycanthropy (in cinema) had a definitive conception
in the original Wolfman movie. "The Wolfman" =A91941 Universal Pictures
with Claude Raines, Bela Lugosi (as Bela the Gypsy Fortuneteller), and
Lon Cheny in the title role.
The poem from the movie dialog:
"Even a man who is pure in heart and says his prayers at night,
Can become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the Autumn moon is
bright."
The Gypsy lamentation (also movie dialog):
"The way you walked was thorny, through no fault of your own. But as the
rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run towards
your destined end. Your suffering is over, now you will find peace."
-the Gypsy Matriarch Maleva (actress Maria Ouspenskaya).
Some systems of contemporary thought believe that humans can transform
into, or possess, the body of an animal.
