I really didn't think that the movie was all that bad.  In fact, it was a 
very decent attempt at upgrading the original concept.

I thought William Hurt was a very good Mr. Robinson,

I liked the idea that General Hess was played by the original Major West, 
nice touch.

I didn't think that the Robinsons was all that dysfuntional, they seem to 
get along very well, and certainly weren't "The Simpletons...er The 
Simpsons.".

And as far as all that other stuff Hollywierd is doing, blame it on 9/11.
