* THE MIST in Glorious Black & White! *

The DVD of Stephen King's THE MIST is to be released on March 25, 
2008.

(However, apparently there once was a released date of March 18th and 
Borders Bookstores (at least in Ohio) started selling it then.)

Now there are 2 versions of the DVD release.  One is a single disc, 
but that is in *full-screen*.  *ecch!*

The other is the 2-disc version which is "The Collector Edition" 
which is in widescreen. *yeah!*  It has a high list price of about 
$33.  That is *high*.

A friend told me what I think is the reason why.

Apparently the director wanted to original film the movie in Black & 
White, but the studio refused.

So as an Extra(!) in this set is the entire Director' Cut version --  
in wonderful Black & White!

Now I don't know if there have been other changes in that Cut, scenes 
added or cut out.  But I believe the reason why this 2-set has such a 
high cost is because you also get the *entire* Director's Cut (in 
B&W) in it.

Like, wow!

My friend told me from what he has read, the B&W version is even 
better than the theatrically-released color version.  (He was the one 
who snagged the DVD in Ohio a week before its official release.)

I missed THE MIST at the theaters; I wanted to see it and it is very 
rare I want to see a movie in the theaters nowadays.  However, with 
the DVD I now have the problem: which version to watch first?!  Color 
or B&W?!

I'm leaning towards the B&W.
