Well, I don't know about the film itself (it did get 2 people giving
it 4 out of 5 stars), but what I found of particular interest was
this:
product is manufactured on demand using DVD-R recordable media.
Amazon.com's standard return policy will apply."
Now from what else I read on the page, I get the feeling it is Amazon
*itself* who is burning these DVD-R. That does make a fair amount of
sense.
But I have never seen this before with a DVD being sold! It is very
much a logical extension of print-on-demand -- burn-on-demand.
Has anyone else seen films sold this way before.
It could open a big market for independent films in general, and
hopefully Lovecraftian films in particular!

P.P.S. INTERESTING "THE MIST" DEVELOPMENT! A curious development for
the 2 DVDs collector's set of THE MIST at Amazon.com. It looks like
they sold out of it already!
Yesterday, the listing for the item said there was a 3-6 week
delivery period on it! Today is has a new availability date of April
11, over a week from now.
Guess it was a lot more popular than either the DVD makers or Amazon
thought.
