You're in rec.arts.horror.movies I suspect. This subject is being
cross-possed between three relevant newsgroups.

It's spam. (SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM...!) The same type of crap that
comes to your email address, only this is the Usenet version. It
happens in almost every newsgroup. Some newsgroups have even died
and they only thing send to them now IS spam.
In alt.horror.cthulhu, we get spam in Arabic. I think it is due to
mention of the fictional author of the NECRONOMICON, Abdul
al-Hazarad, the "Mad Arab".
