Funny that. I always forget that the Spirit was originally in colour.
Until 
the recent DC Archives, most of the reprints I'd seen were in b&w - same 
goes for most of Eisner's other works. I actually prefer the b&w Spirit
but 
I guess it's not what Eisner intended. Maybe Frank Miller was only
familiar 
with the Kitchen Sink and Warren series ?  (Ok, no excuse really)
