It could also have applications in organ donation, i.e.

- switch off stasis
- remove heart and sell it to someone on the waiting list
- switch on stasis
- wait N years on the waiting list
- receive new heart and use the money gained to pay for treatment of
original condition

N increases as time p***** (until heart clones becomes possible).

It could also encourage organ selling by people who are totally
healthy.

Another option is the whole investment thing. You put $1000 in the
bank and wait until it grows high enough until you can affort
treatment. Ofc, there is an arguement that inflation is larger than
interest, so you would need to invest in an index or something for
your money to increase faster than inflation.

Another aspect would be companies which specialise in storing people.
Patients aren't very likely to stay in the hospital if they aren't
expected to be revived for years. This would require rental (unless
it was really cheap and the government pays). It should be possible
to make it reasonably cheap. If you buy land out in the middle of
nowhere and set up your storage facility, the cost is mainly trans****t
to and from the storage area as the field is cheap to power.

Other issues are healthy people going into stasis with instructions to
stay there until their spouse is un-frozen, or just that they want to
see the future.

There is also the problem of mass use of the stasis field causing the
economy to collapse. In the Age of (P something), this was an issue.

Maybe healthy people would be banned from going into stasis unless
they can affort to pay for their maintainance. Ofc, if everyone goes
into stasis, there is lots of money to be made by those who don't.
