Re: Waking up displaced

Replying to this before reading any other responses, since the OP asked 
for as fresh and unbiased a view as possible:

I'm concluding something (A virus? Spreads a bit too fast and completely 
for that. Alien space bats? I don't know.) is causing people to sleep 
much longer than normal.

The effect may not necessarily be fatal - I woke up, hopefully other 
people will too.

Is there anything I can do to wake people? No. Trained doctors have 
tried and failed, I'm not going to be able to pull it off. Well if I 
come across a strange device with "Evil Overlord's Sleep Ray Machine" 
written on it, I'll know what to do, but in the meantime it's a no. I 
just have to hope people will wake on their own.

Things I can try to do:

Log on to the Internet (or failing that, turn on a radio or TV) to check 
the situation elsewhere in the world.

Look in other buildings to check the situation elsewhere in the city.

Look for other awake people - perhaps leave a sign atop a tall building 
or something.

Look for a medical textbook that explains how to care for people in a 
coma, in case it takes a long time for other people to wake up.
