So long as that's where they go to sleep.  I don't know about you, but
I don't sleep at work.

One *huge* problem - universities would notice the effect, very likely
in less than an hour.  I can probably count on one hand the number of
large lectures (out of hundreds) where some number of students haven't
fallen asleep in their seats.  As soon as they couldn't be roused,
large numbers of people would know something was up, though it would
take a bit longer to figure out that only people who fall asleep
naturally are affected.

What's worse, quite a few students are likely to already have drugs
that postpone sleep for at least long enough that some of the earlier
sleepers (possibly including the protagonist) will be dying of
dehydration.

You might get away with ignoring this, but possibly any reader who has
sat through a boring lecture will think of it.
