I don't write that sort of story, either. :)

It's just about him balancing the "all the toys are mine" elation with
the feeling of inevitable doom. Although I don't plot things out in
advance, I have the distinct feeling that this story is going to be
about the first two hours after he wakes up, which isn't enough time
for the aliens to land.
