What you describe resemples a dirac pulse, leaving traces in about any 
monitored channel.

Narrowband transmissions still would register with say the head stations 
of any cable provider in the area, or any military ECM, any resident 
radio astronomer also had a good chance of picking them it up.

Ultrasound is troublesome because of the surrounding environment.
All kinds of strongly location dependent phase shifts, interferences and 
nonlinearities - in a strictly controlled lab you may get away with 
this, but not in anything close to (demi-)natural structure.


This apart from the iusse of generating a long range/wide area 
ultrasonic signal of significant strength - air stops sooner or later to 
behave like an ideal fluid.
