Indeed.  That objection is beyond silly.

Again, probabilities:  Walking around on a decent street in a middle 
class area and politely asking people if they could spare a buck is far 
more likely to get you what you want, and not get you bad results, then 
specifically showing up at someone's house.  That's the side of this we 
haven't discussed; in this day and age, people do not take too kindly to 
crazy people showing up at their house with crazy stories demanding 
crazy things.  If he's trying to avoid a bad day, then the current 
approach he's using isn't too bright.
