That's the thing I find interesting. He comes up with a scenario, and 
then _I_ get to do the comprehending and analyzing. Well, some of it. :)

I can come up with my own wild ill-thought-out "what would happen if" 
scenarios, of course, but when they're generated by someone else they've 
often got more of a feel of freshness to them since I haven't done any 
mulling at all on them yet.

Well, he tries to claim that they don't. That's why partway through 
these threads I generally stop reading most of his responses and just 
read and respond to posts by other participants in the thread who do 
apply real-life issues to the subject.
