Hmm. I'm not sure if this helps or not, as I'm still not sure the
point & direction of this subthread - but Venus's atmosphere most
certainly does rotate, and very rapidly at that, as a result of
thermal issues. Same thing with Titan, actually - both worlds show
superrotation of the atmosphere.
