To be honest, I have no idea.  If we have someone with more complete
knowledge about the radiation output of flare stars (I believe they
radiate across the board, not just in the higher frequencies, but I
can't give a source for it), or the ability of an Earthlike atmosphere
to block massive doses of radiation, they can feel free to pipe in
anytime.
