Oh yes, the gravitational time dilation due to galactic and
supergalactic structures is pretty minimal, probably less than 1 part
in 10^8.  Certainly not much use in the original scenario, especially
since the time dilation experienced at the speeds required to get out
to a void would vastly exceed any benefit.

It only becomes significant added up over a large fraction of the
lifespan of the universe: an extra century or so.
