Energy flux on (in) Titan?

by sigidunum@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Mar 25, 2008 at 11:17 AM

The discovery of a (probable) subsurface ocean on Titan has sparked
discussion of possible life there.

This leads to an obvious question: how much energy would be available
for life on Titan? Presumably inner-sea life would be powered by some
sort of volcanic heating, which in turn would be powered by tidal
forces.

Is it possible to estimate the total power output available from tidal
forces acting on Titan? If so, then how does it compare to the solar
power flux here on Earth?
