Re: How to make money fast (in science fiction)

I hate to say it, but I'm not entirely sure this would work.  What
you've essentially got here (from the Visitor's perspective) is
Robinson Crusoe stranded on a desert island full of chimpanzees.

Now, is Robinson Crusoe going to ask the chimpanzees, hat in hand, to
help him build a raft to get off the island?  Is he going to try to
infiltrate the chimp band, get himself a chimp wife, start jockeying
for position in the chimp hierarchy?  Heck, no.  Dollars to doughnuts,
it's not even going to occur to him.  The most interaction he's likely
to have is hunting them for their meat, and ripping off their skins to
make trousers.

Assuming that your Visitor hasn't gone crazy and actually believes he
_is_ one of us...which I assume he hasn't, from the fact that he wants
to leave our timeline...he simply isn't going to be concerned with our
society.  He may not even recognize us as intelligent beings.

Of course, there may be a "man Friday" character involved, at an
intermediate social stage between present-day humans and Godlike
Ubermenschen.  If you're looking to integrate this into a roleplaying
game, having some kind of go-fer between the players and the Big Bad
is probably a good idea anyway.  And it's possible that your Visitor
really has "gone native", though in that case it's not clear to me why
he would want to leave.
