I tried "Hide read or ignored", and it does work as expected. If I 
understand your post correctly, you're looking for a different feature,
not 
thread-killing. You want to filter on this phrase (which you can also do
in 
OE). If the phrase appears in multiple threads (even with the exact same 
content) OE will consider them different threads, so killing one of them 
won't kill the other

<shrug> It's in the menu as well: "Tools" -> "Options" -> "Spelling" tab, 
"Edit custom dictionary". Or just look for a file named "custom.dic" 
somewhere under your user folder. It's a text file, and you can edit it - 
you'll need to restart OE
