Ok that is slightly different than what I have. I have chosen to ignore 
[actually ignore and delete] all threads with a certian phrase. As well I 
have 'Hide Read or Ignored Messages' selected. This simply grey's out the 
thread upon accessing an ng for the first time. Afterwards, if I return to

the ng the message is dissapeared like other read threads.

 I've just tried the 'Ignore converstion' and it intially greys out the 
thread. I'll see if it does so upon opening.

In Windows Mail it is not there. there is no option for any sort of action

on the custom dictionary.

 It's actual location is:

C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\UserDictionary.lex

 As I said I am using Windows Mail. I did find the custom file, buried 
deeply and hidden. But as I suspected that was not the problem. The 
spellchecker is simply broken - at least in Windows Mail in Vista.

 I did use WordPad to access the file. It just seemed really silly that 
Windows would know that and have to ask the user which app to use to edit 
its own file.
