In a similar theme, check out "The Locusts" by Niven and Barnes.
Neither it nor _Children of Men_ made much scientific sense, but they
were both quite entertaining. _Children of Men_, in particular, left
_two_ big questions unanswered -- one would have probably been okay, but
two left you kind of scratching your head. Still, it was worth seeing.
