Right, so do I. Thing is, I have some ideas what to do about that. Maybe

Obama doesn't, and doesn't plan to.
Yeah, yeah, it was a question Obama answered at one interview. Any decent
politician will *always* say something positive over something negative if
he's got the choice, and that's pretty much Obama's entire shtick. If he
(or anyone else in his position) plans to have Entity X stop doing Bad
Thing Y and start doing Good Thing Z instead, then he's going to use his
fifteen-second sound bite to say, "X will now do Z!"
If instead all he can say is, "X will no longer do Y!", then that's the
end of it. He's got no plans beyond taking away the Y-budget and sending
foul X out of his sight.

And here you are, saying what NASA won't be doing while remaining silent
on the issue of what it will be doing. I suppose I can see why you're
so fond of Obama.
But you're also profoundly ignorant if you imagine the Europeans or the
Japanese are going to be ferrying people to the Space Station any time
soon. They don't even have anything like that on the *drawing board*,
and their space programs are even slower than NASA. ISS will go the
way of Mir, well before it recieves a visitor arriving by European or
Japanese rocket.

And Obama doesn't have anything for them to do, nor the least bit of
political will to spare for them. So nothing will change, except that
instead of wasting gigabucks flying Constellation, NASA will be wasting
gigabucks *not* flying Constellation.
The Shuttle may be a boondoggle, but it is at least a space****p that
actually flies. And Constellation, would probably be more of the same.
You want to see NASA's future under political leader****p that says, "No
Constellation, No Constellation money, and no political will from the
top!", well, you'll get your wish - you won't see any more boondoggles
like the Shuttle. You'll see boondoggles like X-30, X-33, X-34, and
X-37, accompanied by endless whining about how if we'd only give them
the money to do it right...
