    *s* I know it because I know kids can't learn from outdated 
textbooks, and it's hard to learn cell biology without microscopes and 
in fact it's hard to do that rite of passage dissecting without the 
money to buy stuff to dissect.

   And, you know, scalpels to dissect with.  Because it is unseemly to 
let the little darlings bring in their own knives to dissect with.
