With no sup****ting data.  The hypothesis of charged black holes is just 
hand waving, with no observational basis.  Assuming that a black hole 
can exhibit electrically charged behavior leads quickly to the 
conclusion that information survives the trip across the event horizon 
and can be monitored for an indefinite period.  Alternatively, the event 
horizon becomes a magnetic superconductor that will not allow 
penetration by electrical charge, which seems to contradict observed 
behavior.  It leads to the interesting spectacle of protons being 
stripped of their charge as they cross the threshold, while the charge 
remains outside the event horizon.  An electrical charge without an 
associated particle would provide an interesting conundrum for the 
theorists, if it had ever been observed, which it has not.  

If electrical charge does vanish when it crosses the event horizon, it 
would lead to an excess of electrons in the universe, and an unbalanced 
charge.  That should lead to observable effects, like an acceleration in 
the expansion of the universe due to the repulsive effect of the charge 
cloud.
