Re: Biological use of the Zeno Effect

by Damien Valentine <valends3@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 19, 2008 at 11:37 AM

Of course, if we assume Impossibility A and Impossibility B,
Impossibility C naturally follows. But first you need A and B. I am
not a quantum physicist, but this is the first I've heard* of quantum-
scale causes (such as "radical-ion-pair spin coherence") having any
direct effects in the macroscopic world (such as bird eyeballs). So:
has anybody read this paper besides this "arXiv" character? Is it
actual science, or just the "we'll blame it on quantum mechanics, or
possibly a wizard" school of explaining the Universe?

* Not counting hypothetical boxed cats, of course.
