Why would you think the object would take longer?
Just because proper time is passing slower doesn't imply that.
But, if you pitched a clock through such a region, anc compared
it to a clock left outside the region, then it's easy to detect.
Indeed, if you allow checks on things outside the region, or probe
objects to b e sent into and gotten out of the region, then it seems
almost to trivial to menion that they can be detected.
