Well then, how would one expect to "encounter" such a zone? As you
say, all those requirement stack up so that what I'd see would be a
mirrored volume I can't penetrate; IOW you've reinvented the Bobble.

Whether in this Universe or in as you say Magic Land (tm) I have no
real trouble accepting for the sake of argument such a temporally
anomalous zone; ISTM the only real sticking point is the nature of the
discontinuity between Inside and Outside. In this Universe the
discontinuity will be non-zero thickness with a a gravitational
gradient thanks to Einstein, but in a Newtonian Universe there's no
such obvious requirement; the discontinuity can be zero (well,
infinitesimally small) thickness with the full temporal differential
across it.

Hence I think it will indeed be impossible to cross the boundary
while there is a temporal difference. Think what will happen to the
heat energy of your body's molecules as they cross the boundary, not
to mention chemical binding energies, blood flow momentum, yadda
yadda.

Better to simply say that it's impassable _except_ when Inside and
Outside time match exactly. That means that comparisons will only be
possible after entering and exiting. Now, does it "snap" on and off,
or does it go from perfect mirror through grey to transparent as
Inside and Outside sych up? How long does it remain passable? I
wouldn't want to be caught halfway through when it snapped on...

OTOH these "bugs" might be "features"; if this is Magic Land with
"real", deliberate magic it might be used as a prison or "storage
locker" (or panic room).
