Why not ?

If you go twice as far away from your motive, and then use zoom to 
compensate so that your motive is the same size in the frame, then the 
effect is that the moon will look twice as large. (for those feeling 
nitpicky: yes -very- close to twice as large)

There are 1200mm zoom-lenses commonly available, and I'm sure larger 
ones exist. I see no reason at all why the moon can't be made to look 
more or less arbitrarily big.
