There is no "<sic>".  That spelling was never used in the movie, and
the pronunciation they used of "gigawatt" was officially correct in
the US.

Apart from that, I agree with everything else you wrote.  Compact and
safe gigawatt-level power sources would change everything, especially
if they were also not horribly expensive.

(Though read my "safe" in a relative sense.  I doubt any gigawatt
source could ever be truly safe.)
