It's a good idea. It's like back with Babylon 5 when Sinclar was being 
replaced, some of the early stuff we heard about Sheridan was that he was 
going to be on Clark's side. Therefore Babylon 5 would be about the rest 
of the staff fighting back while having to tip-toe around their CO.
Unfortunately, Straczynski took the conventional route...

Just imagine the Secession Arc in season three with them imprisoning 
Sheridan, and then playing cat and mouse as the station turns into a 
battlezone as those loyal to Sheridan free him. It eventually ends with 
them being forced to kill him--giving B5's secession just that much more 
impact. (and Sinclair, now the leader of the Rangers, returns to take 
command once again)
