Pros: Surreal, drop-dead gorgeous cinematography at points, Bobby with
a decent actress as his dead, dream, demon-possessed wife (which makes
the events of Devil's Trap even more poignant), with the humor being
generally subtle and genuine. Or at least actually funny like Sam
after he wakes up from his dream about Bela. And I don't think enough
could possibly be said about Jensen's performance which could have
been maudlin, awkward, overacted and lame and for me, it was really
lovely, scary and sad. The last little flash back to that scene was
quite effective as well. Sam and Dean moments worked. It generally
just worked for me.
Cons: not enough time with Bobby, weak MoTW, and...Bela, of course. I
like Bela for her potential, but while the *** dream was cute, and I
have nothing against cutthroat *****es, I need movement on that front
beyond Bela steals something, boys fumble around like idiots picking
up the pieces.
