Real Carter would have been out of there in minutes.  (With all the
available materials even I could probably have gotten out and I'm not
at all athletic.)  This Carter had to ask Rodney whether radios would
work underground.  And why don't they carry FTL communications devices?
They've had access to the technology for years and I'll bet the Ancients
had something better than Tok'ra recycled Tollan communicators.
