Flash Gordon: Ends where it should have started

by thelostguy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Feb 11, 2008 at 07:38 PM

Finally: Flash, Dale, and Zarkov are stuck on Mongo with no way to return
to
Earth. This is the premise that the series should have started with in the

first place.

Can anyone confirm whether this was a season finale or a series finale?
While
the story is left open to continue, I cannot imagine how this show, with
it's
impossibly low budget and mediocre production values, can possibly
continue
if it is staged entirely on Mongo. Having half the show taking place on
Earth
was obviously an attempt to cut costs, and that is something they will no
longer be able to do.

The two-part finale had all the feel of a rushed "we need to tie up the
series unexpectedly" situation, complete with "Men in Black" that had no
purpose other than to give some inconceivable reason for Dale and Flash's
mother to jump through the rift onto Mongo so we can get the cheesy
reunite-
the-parents scene.

My favorite part of the finale -- the roll up "storage room door" that was

used as the main entrance to the capital city, and the dozen or so guys in

the "army" that rushed through it.
