Bull puckey. The morons were well established by the time Capricorn One
came out, it's where the idea for the film came from. You have it
backwards.

He may well be responsible for giving the nutjobs more publicity (i.e.,
any)
than they deserve, but he in no way originated the idea that the moon
landings were faked. The Art Bell show didn't start until 1989, and wasn't
widely heard outside of the southwest part of the country until it was
syndicated a few years later (1993). Apparently it was popular to pass
tapes around before then though.

The real originator of the dumbass hoax movement was William Kaysing, who
wrote "We Never Went To The Moon" in 1974. A lot of his stupidities are
still parroted by the hoax idiots to this day.

P.S. Rest in Peace Roy Scheider. Even when in a bad film you were always
     worth watching, and there wasn't a lot of those.
