Bull****. Anyone with access to sufficient technology can and could
bounce a laser pulse off one of the laser ranging retroreflectors left
on the Moon by one of the Apollo landers.
Thus you have to posit that in 1969 they had sufficient technology to
put an unmanned lander on the moon and use robotics or the like to
precisely emplace one of these retroreflectors (and keep in mind that
such control over robotics has been but slowly achieved in the decades
since then thanks to considerable leaps forward in computer power), or
accept that they could cobble together a spacecraft not very different
from other ones in use, and send it just a little farther than others at
the time.
If you have these two choices, and yet choose to believe that the
government has hid for decades the advanced robots and computers
necessary to enable an automatic emplacement of the retroreflectors
(which would itself make the manned landing sooo much easier), then you
are an idiot. Full stop.

What a stupid argument. Travel to the moon is prohibitively expensive,
so the purpose has to be worth the cost. Currently there is not enough
value to travelling there to warrant the cost.
You might as well advance the same argument to 'prove' that travel to
the depths of Antarctica are impossible.
