All the stargates in this galaxy are linked so the SG1 and SGC could
arrive 
within minutes. Besides, ****fting it to another galaxy required the use of

the eighth chevron. Personally I don't see what is inherently stupid about

moving it to another galaxy.

Now having all the aliens there ALSO be human, English-speaking and mostly

medieval level in technology, with the exception of the Langarans-er, I
mean 
the Genii and the Pakled-er, I mean Travellers, ... yeah, THAT has been a 
disappointment.

And the general lack of overall purpose of the SGA expedition.

P.S. Altho from a production perspective, if they didn't have the budget
to 
make the Pegasus galaxy look significantly different from the Milky Way 
galaxy, then from that viewpoint, setting the series in another galaxy 
didn't make sense. It was akin to ST:TNG setting up that "warp five" limit

without considering the consequences to the show or the Franchise.
