Um, have you forgotten the gate network within this galaxy?  Or the
fact that within this galaxy, even if the gate on the other side went
missing/broken, Earth had at least one FTL star****p, was in the process
of building more, and in a pinch could ask for a lift from either the
Tok'ra or the Jaffa?

It worked with Voyager because the physics of FTL travel are VERY
different in the two shows.
