What you should see is that answer a is the plain, ordinary dash (ASCII
45 or 055 or 0x2d, html &#45;) or minus sign. Answer b is an en dash
(ASCII 150 or 022 or 0x9, html &#150; or &ndash;). Answer c is an em
dash (151 or 0227 or 0x97, html &#151; or &mdash;). Answers d & e don't
have a dash.

My original post has a plain minus sign, not the typographically
correct en dash.
