The official story is that 8 survived the crash, and 6 were rescued. If
I am correct that some of the losties will be taken to another island to
be "found," then 8 people will be taken off of Lost Island, at least 6
of whom were on Oceanic 815.

I don't think he does. He is not in cahoots with the people who invent

Not one of the Oceanic 6, but the official story is that 8 people
survived the crash. That leaves 2 people who are taken off Lost Island,
but not part of the Oceanic 6.

Juliet and Desmond (if I am right) are problematic, because their
presence on the official island cannot be explained.

The official story is that 8 initially survived, but only 6 were
rescued. There is no reason to have 8 survive, unless the news initially
re****ted the finding of 8 survivors. The number is reduced to 6 either
because 2 actually died, or those 2 can't be explained in the official
story. I can see Desmond and Juliet being rescued, but given an entirely
different cover story. Or left behind, if no plausible cover story can
be concocted. Or killed.

I think there is a battle between the Others and whoever hired the
freighter over control of the island. That is the reason that the
freighter people's boss wants Ben dead.

We have already seen people killed in a battle over control of the island.

We do know that there was a big pay out. A legal settlement? That is the
official story, and it may be correct. Hush money? Possibly that too.

I don't know if Oceanic knows the real story. If they do, then it can
become a tangled web that their public relations department doesn't want
to deal with.

Or Oceanic could be just as deceived as everyone else. Perhaps rescue
crews already searched the official island, and didn't find anyone. Or
after finding the wreck, declaring all passengers dead and calling off
the search, the sudden appearance of survivors is an embarrassment to
Oceanic. Or Oceanic goes along with the story because they can't explain
how Desmond and Juliet were found on a deserted island inhabited only by
Oceanic flight 815 survivors.

I think Oceanic has an interest in having details beyond the official
story kept quiet.

Who else would it be? I don't see anyone else finding the island with
the capability of rescuing anyone. Most people who find the island crash
land there.

Hurley gave Charlotte some sort of a count, though not accurate. Daniel
might have been told. Miles probably doesn't know. We don't know much
about communication with the freighter.

Yes. That and the producers have said the Aaron is key to understanding
what is going on. It also explains why Ben needed Juliet, why the Others
took the children and why Alex was taken and raised as Ben's daughter.
Ben needs a successor, and his best chance of finding one is a child
born on the island, or at least one who arrived at a young age.

If I am right that there is a battle over control of the island, and
that is why the freighter people want Ben dead, then Aaron is also a
potential threat in the long run. Aaron is special, as is Alex; children
aren't normally born alive on the island. The freighter people don't
know that Alex was born on the island. We don't know Karl's story.

Charlotte does know that Aaron was born on the island, and commented
that it was "amazing." I think Charlotte knows about the childbearing
problem on the island and understands that a child born on the island is
special.

If Aaron is as im****tant as I think he is, there will be a battle over
Aaron. Miles won't take anyone off the island unless Aaron is part of
the group. Claire isn't leaving. She has joined Locke. Ben and Lock
won't let Aaron go.

Jack and Kate will be in a bind. Produce Aaron, or no rescue.

Ben did predict that every living person on the island would be killed.
Perhaps the freighter people will take one helicopter load back to the
freighter and killed everybody else? Something will happen that will
prevent more than 8 Losties from leaving the island.
