"See, our plane crashed on this island thousands of miles from where the
plane was found. There was this monster made of black smoke. And polar
bears. Then we found this underground bunker where you had to punch a
series of numbers into a computer every 108 minutes to save the world.
Desmond forgot to once, and that is why we crashed. One of us started
talking to the island, so we found some dynamite on an old ****p that
went aground at the top of this mountain, and blew the hatch cover off
of the bunker. Then we started killing the people who were already
living on the island. And killing each other too. Henry was really Ben,
so we locked him up and tortured him. That was before I removed a spinal
tumor from his back in the medical facility on the other island. Then
some rescuers came, but they really came to kill Ben. The guy who talks
to the island didn't want to be rescued, so he killed one of the
rescuers, and tortured another one by jamming a live hand granade into
his mouth. Because of this time-warp anomaly thingy, they could only
rescue 8 of us, so we took a baby from its mother and headed out."

Hurley isn't the only one who would end up in a mental hospital.

In the same way the Ben is confident that Micheal won't tell his story,
the freighter people are confident that the Oceanic 6 won't tell their
stories.
