I was also uneasy with the whole time-travel conversations, but to be
honest, this still wasn't the first time the series firmly crossed the
line into the SF game.

We still have an unexplained monster who sucked a pilot out of a
plane, a shape-****fting black cloud that can kill and an invisible
person living in a cabin.

There have been some others that ultimately have been explained away
(for the most part), and these things I've mentioned may also yet find
some basis in reality, but I agree that explaining away the time
travel is going to be tough.
