That makes no sense at all.  Why set up a pneumatic tube and just run
it into the jungle?  You might as well run it to wherever it needs to go,
eliminate the truck and the potential for it to be stumbled upon.

But the point is that the show has brought up these things, and then
dropped them without any further notice.

It really is like "well the shows's about this..., no wait, it's about
that..., no it's really about...." and so on.  They go down one path,
and then pull back to go along another path.

It's like "The OC", where a character would be introduced, only to
be eliminated in some fa****on a few episodes later, a character
that shows promise but is never allowed to live up to the promise.
And the main characters never really grew from these new characters,
they just moved on without any reference to those who left.

The show doesn't need to add things, they've had more than enough
things from the first season, even the first episode or two, to
follow along, but instead they let such things disappear "and nobody
will mention these things on pain of death", and keep adding more things.
And they don't just go with the added things, they drop them too and add
other things beyond.
