| The orientation video in the Pearl about the psych experiment was older
than
| the orientation video in the Swan. It was BEFORE the incident not AFTER.
Again, this is all well and good but in no way explains why they set up
the hatch to look like a stupid psychology experiment. Remember, both
the audience and characters (e.g., Jack) recognized the stupid psychology
experiment long before the Pearl orientation video turned up.

| Thats a good point. Desmond pointed out that maybe it was the other way
| around, that the Pearl, was the experiment and not the Swan...maybe
thats
| it...but you do have a good point.
Which brings us back to: why would anyone conduct such a stupid
psychology
experiment in such a dangerous environment?

|
| Ok, I'm confused. I ass-u-me you were referring to Juliet's sister who
got
| cancer while Juliet was on the island? Ben told her that Jacob himself
would
| take care of it and took her to the Flame where she saw her sister in
the
| park.
|
| If that is what you are refering to, then like I said, she could not
leave
| the island because Ben would not let her.
Again, what does it have to do with leaving the island? The conversation
should have gone something like this:
Ben: I can have your sister's cancer cured.
Juliette: That's great. How exactly does the cure work?
Ben: <something uninformative>
Juliette: But Ben, two mysterious medical effects related to the same
island? There's almost certainly a connection between your cancer
cure and the pregnancy problem. You need to tell me everything about
the cure so I can study it.
Ben: No, there is no connection.
Juliette: Well, Ben, in order for you to be so sure of that you must have
far more medical expertise than I and in particular you must understand
the pregnancy problem far better than I do. Given that you have not
shared
any of this knowledge with me you obviously do not want me to find a cure
for the pregnancy problem. Why did you bring me here Ben?
