Reaper started off a lot stronger the Chuck did and does a much better
job with the jokes about 20-something unambitious young adults and
especially Big Box stores. It also has the huge advantage of Tyler
Labine, who kept me watching "Invasion" through week after week of
utterly lame scripts. I loved the conspiracy nut character who actually
stumbles over an actual alien invasion.

"Invasion" went out on a series of strong episodes leading up to May
sweeps that were quite exciting and tightly edited. The producers filled
the middle part of the season with weak material.

"Reaper" also has the advantage of Ray Wise as the Devil. It's too bad
they de-emphasized Sam's inevitable conflict with his parents which
really would have made the show intriguing, getting it away from over
reliance on formula capture of the escaped soul.
